What Is IPL Photo Rejuvenation?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Photo Rejuvenation is a non-invasive skin treatment that uses high-intensity pulses of light to target pigmentation, sun damage, redness, and uneven tone. It’s designed to stimulate collagen production, improve overall skin clarity, and reveal a smoother, more youthful appearance, with minimal downtime.
At Cosmetic Skin Co’s Bulleen clinic, we use advanced IPL technology to create brighter, balanced skin, safely and effectively across a range of skin types.
Benefits of IPL Skin Rejuvenation
- More even skin tone and clarity
- Reduction of redness and brown spots
- Collagen stimulation for smoother skin
- Minimally invasive with low downtime
- Precise, targeted results
- Fast & affordable compared to laser treatments
What to Expect During an IPL Appointment
Your IPL session begins with a full skin assessment to determine your suitability and goals. A cool gel is applied to the treated area for comfort, and the IPL handpiece delivers gentle pulses of light across the skin.
Most sessions take 45 minutes, and clients describe the feeling as a mild snap or flick with minimal discomfort.
After treatment, your skin may feel warm or appear slightly red (similar to a mild sunburn), which typically resolves within a few hours.
Recommended Treatment Frequency
For best results, we generally recommend:
- 3 to 6 IPL treatments, spaced 3–4 weeks apart
- Maintenance sessions every 6–12 months, depending on skin goals
You’ll begin to notice improvements in tone and texture after just 1–2 treatments.
Post-Treatment Care
To support your skin after IPL:
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 7–10 days
- Apply high-SPF sunscreen daily
- Keep skin hydrated with gentle moisturisers
- Avoid active skincare (retinol, AHAs) for 3–5 days
- Expect pigmentation to darken, then flake off naturally
Our team will advise you on a tailored treatment plan to keep your results fresh and long-lasting.
