What Is Pigmentation Spot Treatment
Pigmentation Spot Treatment uses a Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser to target and reduce persistent pigmentation caused by sun exposure or skin trauma, including freckles, sun spots, melasma-type discolouration and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
Using both 1064nm and 532nm wavelengths, either independently or in combination, your clinician tailors each session to the depth and type of your pigmentation. The laser works through selective photothermolysis, where melanin within the skin absorbs the ultra-short laser pulses, fragmenting the pigment at a microscopic level while preserving the surrounding healthy tissue.
Benefits of Pigmentation Spot Treatment
- Dual-wavelength technology treats both surface and deeper pigment in the one session
- 1064nm wavelength penetrates deeper and is safer for clients with darker skin tones, with a low risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
- 532nm wavelength effectively clears superficial pigment such as sun spots and light freckles
- Minimal downtime, with most sessions well tolerated
At Cosmetic Skin Co’s Bulleen clinic, we tailor your treatment plan to your skin tone and the depth of your pigmentation for the safest, most effective outcome.
