Microdermabrasion Treatment:
A Microdermabrasion Facial Treatment represents one of the best non-invasive, results-driven, non-surgical aesthetic technologies available to polish, refine and rejuvenate the skin in the one treatment. This facial treatment is fairly quick and simple, but the results are AMAZING!
Microdermabrasion removes the dead skin cell buildup with a vacuum suction leaving your skin smoother, brighter, firmer, and with a course of treatments, blemish-free while stimulating the production of collagen deeper in the dermis improving general skin health and appearance. Microdermabrasion can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with another skin treatment to enhance your results and Cosmetic Skin Co can tailor a suitable skin treatment for you.
Best For
This treatment is one of our recommended options for:
Treatment Course & Cadence
The best results are achieved with a series of treatments, spaced 7–10 days to 4–6 weeks apart depending on your skin, with a typical course of 4–8 sessions to allow your skin time to regenerate between treatments.
Pre-Treatment Care
Stop using topical retinol at least 5 days before treatment, and avoid waxing the treatment area for 2 days before and at least 7 days after. Good cosmeceutical skincare preparation beforehand helps ensure the best results.
Aftercare
Results are often visible straight away. Microdermabrasion can be dehydrating, so avoid swimming in heavily chlorinated or salt water for at least a week afterwards. Use nourishing, hydrating skincare recommended by your clinician, keep the treated skin out of direct sunlight, and apply a broad-spectrum SPF50+ daily. Avoid skincare, makeup and perfume containing harsh active ingredients such as AHAs and BHAs for 3–4 days after treatment, while your skin’s barrier recovers.
Is This Treatment Right for You?
Microdermabrasion isn’t suitable for everyone. During your consultation, your clinician will check for factors such as impaired skin barrier, dry or irritated skin, active cancer or cancer treatment, use of Accutane/isotretinoin within the last 12 months, active or inflamed acne, recent sunburn or windburn, cold sores, open lesions, and inflamed eczema or psoriasis, to confirm this treatment is appropriate for you.
